Zinc OxideBenefits, how to use & safety
The broad-spectrum mineral shield.
What is Zinc Oxide?
Zinc oxide is a mineral that sits on the surface of skin and protects against both UVA and UVB rays. It is the only single sunscreen filter that covers the entire UV spectrum, and it is also soothing, making it a go-to for sensitive skin.
How it works
Zinc oxide particles reflect, scatter and absorb UV radiation. Modern micronised and non-nano formulas reduce the chalky white cast while still giving broad-spectrum protection.

Frequently asked
Does zinc oxide leave a white cast?
It can. Tinted or micronised formulas reduce it significantly.
Is zinc oxide better than chemical filters?
Neither is universally better. Zinc is gentler and broad-spectrum, while chemical filters are lighter to wear.
Is zinc oxide safe for acne-prone skin?
Yes. It is non-irritating, and some research suggests it may calm inflammation.
